New bass player – Madeleine
What have you done before Frantic Amber? I have played in a heavy metal band called DWARF since 2013 and I’m still playing in it alongside Frantic Amber.
How did you get in Frantic Amber?
I met Mary at a party with a friend we have in common. Later on Mary, Mio and Elizabeth came and watched a gig with my band and asked me if I was interested in playing with them.
How does it feel to now be a part of Frantic Amber?
It feels great! I’m looking forward to play a different kind of metal other than that I’m used to play and to evolve as a bass player.
Some curiosities about you?
I enjoy photographing, mostly concerts and bands but all kinds of stuff and just documenting in every day life. I also play computer games, my favorite games is Mass Effect 2 and Diablo II even though I currently play Diablo III. And I play keyboard every now and then and the reason I began in the first place was so that I could learn songs from the Mass Effect soundtrack.
What role do you have in the band?
I’m the bass player and I also think that with my interest for photography I’m going to run around with a camera in my hands when I’m not playing and therefore can document what ever Frantic Amber is up to.
What equipment do you use?
Bass guitar: Ibanez SR700
How do you think you will influence the band?
I hope to contribute to the songwriting and add some of my influences to the music. And also to add to a dynamic play style in Frantic Amber since I play the bass with my fingers.
What is your musical influences?
Mostly heavy-, thrash-, and death metal. Bass players that has influenced me the most is Steve Harris and Cliff Burton. When I was 13 years old I watched a video of Cliff Burton performing (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth and it was then I knew that I wanted to play bass. Some of my favourite bands are Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Dismember, Death.
One song that makes you happy and one that makes you angry/energetic
It’s hard to only mention one song but “Power and the Glory” by Saxon and “Phantom of the Opera” by Iron Maiden is songs that always makes me happy.
One movie that makes you happy and one that makes you angry/energetic
The Neverending Story is a movie that I love and that makes me happy. I can watch it over and over again and the same goes with The Lord of the Rings. I don’t have one specific movie that makes me angry but overall it’s movies/documentaries that shows injustice and cruelty in the world.
Let the metal flow.
